Mission of the Month: May’s mission is the LCMS mission "Operation Barnabas". As we remember those service members who paid the ultimate sacrifice this Memorial Day, we focus our giving efforts for the LCMS military outreach program Operation Barnabas. Operation Barnabas is the LCMS network of care to our nation's military members, families and veterans. Operation Barnabas reaches out to all branches of the military with a special emphasis on our Reserve members and their families.
Craft Time: Join us on Wednesday afternoons starting on May 15th for fun and crafting! Bring a craft to work on or just come and see what we are all about. We will meet from 12:30-4:00 pm. in the lower level of church. Come for as long as you are able.
Thank You: Renate and Alfred Piotter would like to thank all the members of the congregation who expressed their concerns and support during Alfred’s health scare. Thank you for the many prayers and words of encouragement over the last few weeks. It means so much to both of us. We are very thankful that Alfred is doing much better. – Renate & Alfred
Super Sundae: Sunday, May 12th is Super Sundae Sunday! Every second Sunday of the month at Good Shepherd is Super Sundae Sunday. Please bring non-perishable food items for our Good Shepherd grocery cart in the atrium. You can also donate money to our Mission fund. Please write "Missions" on the outside on the envelope that contains your donation and place it in the offering plate. In between worship services, please enjoy an ice cream sundae as a “thank you” for your help in supporting Missions at Good Shepherd.
Game Night: Game Night will be held next Friday, May 10th from 6:30 - 8:30 pm at church. We meet on the second Friday of every month. You can bring your own games to share or use some of the church games. Light snacks and beverages are usually served. This is a great way to have fun and get to know fellow members. People are encouraged to invite their friends and neighbors as well. This event is open to High School aged youth and older. If you have any questions, please contact Stacy Martin at 920-229-9736.
Mission Update: Do you ever wonder how some of the missions we have supported are currently doing? Stephen Weisenauer’s most recent newsletter is available in the atrium, if you would like to find out what has been happening in Burma and how God’s love is being spread to the many displaced people there.
Ascension Day Service: You are invited to join us Thursday, May 9th at 7:00 pm as we celebrate Ascension Day with other churches & choirs from our circuit. This special day commemorates the completion of Jesus’ earthly mission, His ongoing intercession for us, and the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. It serves as a reminder of our faith in Jesus’ victory and the hope we have in Him.
KFUO This Week: Study Daniel 4-8 on Sharper Iron (weekdays at 8:00 a.m. CT), hear stories from around the Synod on The Coffee Hour (weekdays at 9:00 a.m. CT), and continue studying the book of Proverbs on Thy Strong Word (weekdays at 11:00 a.m. CT).
